Sunbi Zitan Scenic Area
SunbiZitan Scenic Area is a landscape and commercial district located at the southwest corner of a wetland park, with a plot area of about 110,000 square meters. The layout continues the pattern of the local village, with traditional residence-style commercial buildings grouped into small clusters. Water flows between the clusters, and walking spaces are connected by pedestrian bridges. The buildings use Chinese traditional wooden structures with mortise and tenon joints. Main materials include lauan wood, rammed-earth walls and small gray tiles. Native tree species are planted.
Sunbi Zitan Scenic Area Garden by U A D has been recognized as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Sunbi Zitan Scenic Area Garden earned the Iron A' Design Award in Landscape Planning and Garden Design in 2022. The A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design award that celebrates outstanding design of landscape designs, public parks, residential gardens, urban plazas, campus designs, green roofs, waterfront developments, Eco-Parks, botanical gardens and more.
