Farmers Den

Farmers Den is an office landscape design located in Gandhinagar, India. The layout follows a simple grid plan, and the building is raised slightly on a platform that flows into the surrounding landscape and water channels. Local yellow sandstone is used for its color and texture under changing sunlight. Native tree species and insect repellent plants are combined with water, fish and turtles to form a small ecosystem. Raised mounds and tall trees shade the southwest side from strong heat. Openings in the breakout wall guide the breeze over the water to cool the cabins.

Prison History

Historical Park is a public park and memorial in Berlin, set on the site of a Prussian prison built between 1842 and 1849. Sandblasted beige concrete matches the joints of the restored brick wall. The design joins recreation and remembrance in one landscape.

Motion sensors and dimming reduce energy use by up to 30 percent during off-peak hours. Anti-glare shields limit light spill toward nearby homes.

Fushan Ecology

Fushan Ecological is a greenway structure placed on the south side of Fushan Mountain, where the site has a height difference of 21 meters. The form is inspired by the pinecones found on the mountain, and each level is a twisted hexagon that becomes smaller toward the top. A concrete foundation supports a steel grid structure with inner and outer cylinders. The path surface is made of anti-corrosion wood or imitation wood. Inner steps allow quick passage, and outer ramps suit slow walking. Both paths meet at a viewing platform at the top.
